A few weeks ago I saw Lizzo in concert. It was a glorious night: I wore pink leopard print, drank terrible 02 rosé and danced so much my feet hurt. The following day, I was knackered but euphoric. Somehow – even though I had gone to bed at one in the morning – I had so much more energy to care for my kids. Whilst it is undoubtedly true that having children encourages you to embrace playfulness, sometimes you simply need fun that isn’t family-led. This issue of Crib Notes is all about ‘Grown-Up Fun’. I have chosen five books which are enjoyable, provocative, sexy and comic – the literary equivalent of letting your hair down. I hope you find something here that gives you the hit you need.

How To Buy Your Books: I recommend purchasing your books from family-run, indie bookshop Storytellers Inc. Click here to shop or email Katie and quote ‘cribnotes’ to receive free postage on singles orders and 10% off orders of more than two titles.
