How was your summer? Like most parents, my answer to this question is a contradictory one: happy and fun-filled, but also draining and dispiriting at times. We have had glorious mornings at the Tate and the shady springs in Elephant Park, and an equal number of shit moments. At times, I have felt like I have been dissolved into a sea of toddler demands. With my eldest son's nursery open during term-time only, grown-up, child-free, solo time has been in short supply. To get me through, I focus on tiny, tangible moments of joy. A decent coffee each day is non-negotiable (preferably consumed whilst still hot). And so too, is a moment with a book. For this issue of Crib Notes I have chosen a handful of books for those times when you need a strong, invigorating shot of joy alongside your daily caffeine fix. I hope you enjoy whatever you choose to read!
